What do Prop Pitch numbers mean?

  • Pitch numbers indicate the distance the Prop travels forward with one full turn. The larger the Pitch, the more bite the Prop will have.
  • How often should my trailer bearing be serviced?
    • The bearings on your trailer should be serviced (a full wheel pack) once a season or every 1,000 miles.
  • How often should the bottom be cleaned?
    • You should start the season with a good wax job. Then clean and wipe down the boat every time you take it out of the water. Put a good coat of wax on the hull about three to four times a season.
  • How often should I change my water pump impeller?
    • A water pump impeller should be changed every 2 seasons or 100 hours of use.
  • How long can I run my motor without a water supply going to it?
    • DO NOT, under any conditions, run your motor without a water supply, it only takes 30 seconds to damage the water pump impeller.
  • How often should I changed my trim tab anode?
    • The trim tab will be of service until it is 2/3 eaten away.
  • How many times can my Prop be rebuilt?
    • Three times on an aluminum Prop or four times on a S.S. Prop.
  • Will a damaged Prop effect my performance?
    • Yes, speed, hole shot, and fuel economy will all suffer from a damaged Prop.
  • How often should I change my engine oil?
    • Every 50 hours or once a season.
